Shri M D Mallya has worked for over 35 years in the banking industry across various verticals and positions.

Under his guidance as Chairman & Managing Director, Bank of Baroda has made rapid strides in business growth, innovation and customer service also winning the prestigious "Business India Best Bank Award 2010."

Shri Mallya, joined Corporation Bank as an officer in August, 1976 and subsequently held various positions of responsibility rising to the rank of General Manager before becoming Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce. He then moved as Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of Maharashtra.

Shri Mallya took over as Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of Baroda on 7th May, 2008. He has been appointed as a Director on the Boards of New India Assurance Co. Ltd. and Export-Import Bank of India for a term of 3 years and is also a Member of the Oversight Committee for India Infrastructure Finance Co. Ltd. Further, he is a Director on Baroda Pioneer Asset Management Co. Ltd. and also serves as a Director on the Board of Agricultural Finance Corporation of India. Besides these, he is also a member on various committees of Indian Banks' Association and National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune.

Shri Mallya is a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Suratkal (now known as National Institute of Technology, Karnataka). He has also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Bangalore.

Nanda has worked for over 25 years in India’s leading Banking, Asset Management, Financial Advisory, General and Life Insurance organizations.

Before he joined the life insurance industry at the beginning of the historical opening of the sector in 1999, he was heading the retail sales at DSP Merrill Lynch, sales and marketing at GIC Asset Management and managing finance and operational functions at the divisional offices of New India Assurance. He also worked very briefly at Andhra Bank and Indian Oil Corporation before moving to the insurance industry.

At the time of liberalization of the insurance sector, he joined Birla Sun Life to be part of its start up team to set up their financial advisory business followed by the Bancassurance, Alternate distribution Channels and Group Businesses at Birla Sun Life Insurance. He pioneered bancassurance business in India working with over a dozen large Indian and MNC banks as distribution partners of Birla Sun Life Insurance taking the company to the second position in the industry at that time.

He later joined Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group as President & CEO to set up its life insurance business under the umbrella of Reliance Capital. Reliance Life Insurance became the fastest growing life insurer to become the 4th largest in a matter of three years.

Nanda has graduated in Commerce, did his MBA in Finance & Marketing and Ph.D from Andhra University. He is also a Fellow of Institute of Company Secretaries and Fellow of Insurance Institute of India. He wrote several articles on mutual funds and financial planning for various news papers and journals including Wall Street Journal and authored a book on financial planning titled “Investors’ Handbook”. He has chaired and is a frequent panel speaker in several national and international conferences.

Nanda has many interests and hobbies - photography, movie making and Indian music are his current passion. He is married to Anuradha and has two children, Abhijit and Madhubala.

Shri R.K. Bakshi is the Executive Director of Bank of Baroda. He represents the bank on its Kenya and Tanzania's subsidiaries as well as Zambian joint ventures. He is also a member of the IBA committee on retail banking.

He started his banking career by joining Bank of India, as a Probationary Officer. In a career spanning over 33 years with Bank of India, he acquired rich experience of banking operations with a thorough knowledge of process flow. Further, he has wide exposure in the areas of International Banking, Treasury, Large Corporate Credit and Planning. Various positions and assignments held by Shri Bakshi include a stint as Faculty in the Training College, posting in London branch, Head of Treasury, Bank of India and as Chief Executive, Singapore Operations of Bank of India.

Prior to joining Bank of Baroda, he was the General Manager, Corporate Credit, Business Process Re-engineering & New Initiatives, Bank of India. During his tenure as the General Manager, Bank of India made rapid strides in business growth, technology, organizational restructuring, etc. He led the banks foray into the life Insurance business by setting up a joint venture life insurance company in collaboration with Daiichi Mutual Life of Japan and Union Bank of India. He was also the driving force behind the Change Management initiatives across the Bank.

Shri A.A.Taj Executive Director with Andhra Bank, is a Chartered Accountant by profession with an experience of about 33 years in various capacities at Union Bank of India. With a passion for banking, particularly in making recovery mechanism in banks more effective and a rich experience in varied functions of the bank, he has been instrumental in revamping the recovery mechanism, improving recovery of NPAs and in ensuring substantial growth & smooth functioning of the Bank.

Mr. Gareth Hoskin is the CEO – International Division, Legal & General, UK.

After graduating, Mr. Hoskin joined PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PwC) London where he qualified as Chartered Accountant, working in their London audit and business advisory services. During his tenure at PwC he spent two years working in the Melbourne PwC practice.

He joined Legal and General as Finance Director of their UK operations, before moving to the UK business. He was responsible for product, marketing and IFA distribution. On moving from the UK business he was responsible for Group resources, including HR, before becoming the CEO of the International Division.

Mr. Hoskin is married, with two teenage children.

Shri Vivek Thatte is the General Manager (International Operations), Bank of Baroda

He has a wide experience in various areas like the Credit department, Foreign Exchange, SME & Wealth Management, Corporation Accounts & Taxation and International Operations. He has also worked at the New York branch of the bank for a period of five years in Credit and Treasury operations and headed the Corporate Financial Services department at New Delhi and Pune for three years.

Shri Thatte was also the Chairman of Regional Rural Bank – Bulsar and Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank for two years.

He has done his Masters in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.

Shri R.Padmanabhan a Chartered Accountant by profession joined Andhra Bank 3 decades ago and has worked in various capacities across the country. He has a rich experience in not only credit and branch operations but also administration. He currently holds the position of General Manager, HR at Andhra Bank.

Mr. Ian Viney is International Commercial Director of Legal and General, UK.

He started his career in the life insurance industry as a Sales Agent. He left Australia in the early ‘90s and has lived and worked in Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Egypt and the UK. Mr. Viney has been involved in the start up of several new life insurance companies. Most recently he was the MD of L&G's joint venture life company in Egypt, and prior to that was the MD of L&G's non life company in the UK.

Mr. Viney is an Australian, originating from Tasmania. Ian was called up for National Service in 1970 and after serving in the Australian Army, he pursued a career as a professional musician. He studied music at Melbourne University and holds a Bachelor of Music degree.

He is married to Hoda and has 4 children - 2 boys and 2 girls. He plays golf and enjoys listening to orchestral music.

Shri Manohar Gopal Bhide, an MA (Economics) and C.A.I.I.B, has an experience of over 45 years in the financial sector. He has held several coveted positions of responsibility in public sector banks. He was the Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of India, Managing Director & Group Executive (National Banking), State Bank of India (SBI) and CEO, SBI, London, UK.

His current directorships include Finolex Industries Ltd., Pune, J.P.Morgan Securities Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., Mumbai, Mahindra Sulabh Services Ltd., Mumbai, Global Trade Finance Ltd., Mumbai, IOT Infrastructure & Energy Services Ltd. and Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd., Mumbai. Also, he is a Member of the Executive Committee (Currency Derivatives Segment) of National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.

He is a Consultant/ Strategic Advisor/ member of the strategic advisory board for IDFC Private Equity Company Ltd., JP Morgan Chase, Mumbai, New Bridge Capital LLC, USA, Buena Vista Fund Mg. LLC, USA, Intuit Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Development Credit Bank and Indian Oil Tanking Ltd., Mumbai.

Shri U.S.Roy is an experienced executive with Board-level assignments in financial services spanning commercial banking, insurance, financial technologies, cross-border payment & collection systems and management of financial institutions. He retired as Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India (SBI) after over 37 years' service in SBI. He was then on deputation to SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SBI Life),  one of the largest private-sector life insurers in India, as its Managing Director & CEO. His immediately preceding assignment was as Chief General Manager of SBI's Bengal Circle (2005 and 2006), which covers the states of West Bengal, Sikkim & Bay Islands comprising then of over 800 branches of the Bank, 18000+ staff and a Balance Sheet of over Rs. 35,000 crores.

He joined SBI as a Probationary Officer in Porbandar, Gujarat. Besides heading large banking and insurance operations, he led the team which implemented the SBI - Connect network and Core Banking Solution (CBS) software across the State Bank Group., as Chief General Manager (IT) of SBI's Global Information Technology (IT) Hub at Belapur (Navi Mumbai).  Till date, this is considered as one of the largest commercial computer network implementations in the world.

He took over as MD & CEO of SBI Life in 2007. The company's cost-effective and customer centric approach, leading to significant growth in its business volumes, was developed through intensive synergy with the State Bank Group's branch network and innovative product strategy, supplemented by a compact, highly productive Agency (non-SBG) distribution channel. Corporate business connections of the State Bank Group (SBG) were also effectively leveraged in SBI Life's integrated Banca distribution model. These measures initiated by him helped SBI Life to leverage the SBI-brand in its journey to emerge as one of the two most significant life insurers.

Shri U S Roy is a post graduate in physics. He is also a Life Member of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He belongs to an old and established family of Cuttack (Orissa), active in public life since 1850s.
