Munish Bhardwaj

Country Head – Regional Rural Bank Channel

As Country Head for the Regional Rural Bank Channel, Munish Bhardwaj leads the Regional Rural Banks (RRB) Bancassurance vertical at IndiaFirst Life. In this role, he is responsible for driving insurance penetration across rural and semi-urban markets through strategic banking partnerships, aligning with the company’s mission of delivering life insurance to the last mile.

A long-standing member of IndiaFirst Life, Munish has played a key role in expanding the company’s reach across multiple distribution channels. He has successfully turned around underperforming partner branches and built a strong business pipeline in emerging markets. His previous leadership roles include heading Bancassurance sales for the Union Bank of India and Bank of Baroda verticals, as well as overseeing Strategic Alliances, Micro Insurance, and Direct Channels at IndiaFirst Life.

Munish brings with him extensive experience from the life insurance and pharma sectors, having previously worked with HDFC Life, Bajaj Allianz, and reputed pharmaceutical organizations. Known for his grassroots understanding and executional strength, he is a passionate advocate of inclusive insurance access.

He holds an MBA, a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Rajasthan, and a diploma in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Scientific Research.
